Ammonia leakage hazards:

Ammonia leakage is a special hidden danger in ammonia cold storage. Once an ammonia leak occurs, the first thing to bear the brunt is fire. When the ammonia concentration reaches 15.5% to 27%, it will explode when exposed to an open flame. Since the toxicity of ammonia itself is harmful to the human body, ammonia leakage can also cause convulsions, fainting, and even death from suffocation.


There are many reasons for ammonia leakage in cold storage, including the aging of equipment, personnel operating errors, and management negligence.
As the service life increases, equipment will age to varying degrees. The valve is aging and the axis is loose, which reduces the air tightness and causes ammonia leakage. The welding joints of the pipes in the cold storage may also age and crack, or the pipes may be corroded and the flanges may age, causing leaks.

Data transmission: According to the actual conditions of the cold storage site, ammonia detection alarms are installed at each monitoring location. If ammonia leaks occur, the detected ammonia concentration data will be transmitted to the cold storage site immediately in the form of current signals or wireless transmission. The controller, in parallel, links the gas cut-off valve to quickly cut off the source of gas transmission, starts the on-site exhaust system, quickly eliminates toxic gases, and ensures the safe operation of on-site personnel and the normal operation of equipment.
